This is a tribute to my grandfather(my mum’s side).
.
My grandfather just passed away a week ago, on a Sunday afternoon. He is 92.
.
I was still in KL enjoying the freedom after my finals in UKM. It was just a day after my exams, when I got a call from mum telling me that grandpa just passed away. I didn’t think that he would be gone so soon. He seemed well the last I time visited him.
.
I’m actually surprised, that i didn’t feel much sadness at his passing away. I’m afraid that I won’t miss him after he’s gone.
.
Thinking about it, grandpa chosed a good time to depart. My exams were just over, school holiday just started and it’s just a few days from a few public holiday. Almost every relative made it to pay their last respect.
.
Meanwhile, I have never seen grandma cried before. Now I know that no matter how emotionally, mentally, physically, psychologically or whatever-cally prepared you are; when the real thing comes, you still can’t handle it. I thought grandma was a strong women, and that she had expected this to happen soon; yet at the funeral, there’s no stopping her tears. And mine.
.
.
.
So here’s to you, grandpa. I know you don’t speak English, but I’m sure you’ll meet friends who do in heaven.
Yours Sincerely,
the Grandson.
SORRY to hear that…
See,we sometimes overestimated ourselves. We thought that we are good, we are wise, we know the ways to get things settled, we can accept the facts for whatever happens, we can live on our own, we wont feel unease losing someone beside us…and therefore we take things for granted.
Well, you wont know how strong you are until the day comes.
Thats why we were taught to appreciate and be grateful for those things that are still tight holding in our hands–lovers, parents love, friendship…
We appreciate so that when it reaches the time for us to set thing free, we wont regret and blame ourselves for never really do something for it.
Really sad to get to know the news…But after the funenal, remember, wipe away your tears, be tough and strong.
When its time for ash to ash, dust to dust, accept it. I am quite sure that your grandpa would wish to see, you all can still live happily without him by your side…
Stand still, live strong. Be the tough yuanwu that we know.
Hey dude, sorry your grandpa pass away. Talk to you soon.
